Do you offer flexible caregiver or nursing home shifts?

Yes, we offer very flexible shifts and need people for:

• Weekends
• Night Shifts
• Morning Shifts
• Afternoon Shifts
• 4-hour shifts, 8-hour shifts, 12 hours shifts, and other variable lengths.
• We are busy in most areas of western metro Detroit and offer both private duty caregivers and nursing home opportunities.
• We work hard to provide as many opportunities as possible.

Can you offer full-time caregiver & home health aide hours?

Yes!

• We have more hours than we can handle.
• We need help for mornings, evenings, and overnight shifts.
• We offer private duty home caregivers and nursing home jobs.
• We offer training and make sure you have great communication!

What if I don’t have experience?

• If you are a thoughtful, caring, and dependable person with life experience, we can help train you!
• The most important qualities are reliability, dependability, and a can-do attitude!
• We have teams at our facilities that can help train you and video and orientation training for your position.
• As your experience grows, your pay scale and credentials will also grow!

Do you offer caregiver training?

• Yes, we will help provide training for those without significant previous experience!
• We have a structured program that provides orientation, video series training on various skills, and in-person supervised shifts with other experienced caregivers.
• We do offer structured pay raises as you improve your skills and training.

After I submit an application or resume, when should I expect a response?

• Normally, you’ll receive a call from one of our recruiters acknowledging that your resume or application has been received.
• The local Assisting Hands office to which you have applied will contact you directly if they are interested in your resume or application.

If I get hired, how much will I work?

• We believe in offering our in-home care nurses, caregivers, and CNAs the flexibility they deserve.
• That’s why as part of our home care team, you’ll be able to create your schedule.
• We offer flexible shifts for as many hours or as few hours as you need.

Do you offer benefits?

• We offer a health care option that provides lower-cost health care plans for those working 30 hours a week.
• We also supplement 50% of that health care costs on that plan for those employees!

• Yes, we do offer a bonus for having a CNA.

Do you offer a bonus for having previous caregiver experience?

• Yes, we offer a bonus for over six months of continuous experience, and we offer a further bonus of having over two years of previous caregiving experience.

Do you offer caregiver raises?

• Yes, we offer caregiver raises at 60 days and 120 days if the caregiver is reliable!

What special testing or information will be required?

• Employment Agreement may include a non-compete/non-disclosure agreement with the Home Care Agency.

Can I work part-time as a caregiver?

Yes!

• We offer flexible shifts in the evening, morning, and overnight hours.

Can I work as a live-in caregiver?

• Yes, we offer long-term shifts that allow you to stay over with the client and receive prioritized sleep.
• We are also looking for opportunities to subsidize caregivers’ rent to potential live near or adjacent to foster homes or permanent facilities to provide care.

Private caregiver job description:

• Our caregivers are considered to be private caregivers.
• This means non-medical services such as assisting with daily living activities and helping the client with basic but essential tasks.

Can I have a caregiver job with no experience?

Yes!

• We will provide training and make sure you feel comfortable working before putting you in a performance situation.

Do you offer nursing home jobs?

Yes, we do have available nursing home jobs.

• We have agreements with many nursing homes in the area. 
• This allows us to provide more shift and location flexibility than just one nursing home alone could.
• We allow for night shifts, evening shifts, and morning shifts.
• We allow for short shifts and long shifts.

Do you offer home health aide jobs?

• Yes, we do offer home health aide jobs with flexibility.
• We offer evening shifts, overnight shifts, and morning shifts.
• We offer flexibility for school and other jobs.

What is the caregiver job description?

• The ideal caregiver is attentive and trustworthy.
• The caregiver will plan and follow a daily care schedule with clients, modify care plans as prescribed by medical professionals, and report any new conditions or needs.
• To succeed as a caregiver, you should be patient, empathetic, and have strong people skills. It would help if you were observant and committed to making your client feel safe and comfortable.

What are the caregiver  or home health aide responsibilities:

• Assisting with personal care, including bathroom functions, bathing, grooming, dressing, and eating.
• Following a prescribed healthcare plan may include assisting with exercise and administering medication.
• Ensuring the client’s home is organized according to their needs and that safety measures are in place.
• You may also be expected to assist with some light housework.
• They are providing emotional support and encouragement to perform necessary tasks.
• Providing mobility assistance may be required, for example, helping the client in and out of bed, a chair, or a wheelchair.
• They are transporting or escorting the client to medical and other appointments.
• Monitoring and reporting changes in health, behavior, and needs.
